Larry Wilder Defends Former Teacher in Clarksville Student Relationship Case
In March 2025, former Clarksville teacher Connor Page, age 22, appeared in Clark County Court following allegations of an illicit relationship with a 14-year-old student. The case drew significant public concern due to the severity of the charges and the involvement of a trusted educator.
Page, who had taught math at both Clarksville Middle and High Schools, resigned from his position immediately after the allegations surfaced. Representing him, attorney Larry Wilder emphasized his client’s cooperation with law enforcement throughout the investigation.
“When the allegations were made, you immediately left your job as a school teacher and resigned. And in fact, we stayed in touch with the Clarksville Police during the whole investigation, right?” Wilder asked during proceedings, highlighting that Page had voluntarily provided access to his electronic devices and passwords to assist investigators.
Despite this cooperation, prosecutors outlined troubling evidence, including hundreds of electronic messages between Page and the student, some of which contained explicit requests for photos. Court documents further alleged that Page would follow the student’s school bus and wait at her stop, escalating the seriousness of the accusations.
Public records also showed that Page himself acknowledged the criminal nature of his actions in messages to the student, writing that the consequences under Indiana law were “insane and severe.” Alongside the criminal case, the victim’s family filed a civil lawsuit against Page, school officials, and administrators, alleging emotional harm caused by the relationship.
During the hearing, prosecutors requested strict bail conditions, including no contact with the victim and a prohibition on entering school property. Bail was set at $150,000, and Page was taken into custody at the conclusion of the court appearance.
By underscoring Page’s cooperation with authorities, Wilder aimed to demonstrate that his client accepted the gravity of the situation and had acted responsibly once the allegations came to light. His defense approach focused on ensuring the court considered not only the accusations but also Page’s willingness to assist investigators and comply with the legal process.
